DO NOT SEND CARDS TO WOUNDED TROOPS "THIS WAY!" 12/08

Thanks to Carol Weber for the research. Do not send "un-named cards to troops at Walter Reed or anywhere else. They will get returned. Go to http://www.snopes.com/politics/christmas/walterreed.asp for details. Instead go to http://www.redcross.org/email/saf/ which is an American Red Cross effort via Pitney Bowes which will get your card to the right place. Thanks for thinking of our troops.

...and from Karan regarding something cool that Xerox is doing:

If you go to this web site, "www.LetsSayThanks.com" you can pick out a thank you card and Xerox will print and send it to a soldier that is currently serving in Iraq. You can't pick out who gets it but it will go to a member of the armed services. Try it and lets all say Thanks!

Science Center display is a success! 11/08

The Science Center set-up in November was  a huge success. Never before has Women With Wings hosted 4 different display stations as an outreach for kids. Further this was the unveiling of our new backboard and it worked perfectly. Prior shows required logistical gymnastics to borrow a backboard and return it quickly. Thanks to Ms. Eve Cascella for obtaining this great asset to our membership.
